Not to be outdone by its rival, Activision officially announced its newest music-oriented gaming title, DJ HERO. An offshoot from its immensely successful GUITAR HERO franchise, which gross $2 billion dollars in sales worldwide, DJ HERO let you “be the life of the party”, and allow you to spin away popular dance tunes and hip-hop tracks.
The game will include a customized turntable controller with the familiar 4 color-coded buttons. Available in versions for the 4 major gaming consoles: Xbox 360, PS2, PlayStation 3, and Wii, DJ HERO will due out towards the end of October this year, with selected retailers (like Amazon) taking pre-release orders now.
In addition, just prior to the E3 gaming tradeshow this week, Activision briefly introduced a special edition of DJ HERO, currently in the works, with EMINEM and Jay-Z. It will include new greatest hits CDs, controller with advance functions, a DJ stand and a metal carring case. One other possibility is the special edition may include previously unreleased tracks.
